Variations and Substitutions

No need to fret if you don't have orange syrup or homemade margarita mix on hand. A popular alternative is one, and a half-ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, a half-ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice, a half-ounce freshly squeezed orange juice, and a half-ounce of agave or simple syrup. With just a few shakes to chill the ingredients, you have a nonalcoholic margarita waiting for your first sip.

For a frosty experience, add all of the ingredients to a blender along with a cup and a half of ice. Your second step is to blend until smooth and then enjoy. Skip the orange syrup and use freshly squeezed orange juice instead for a lighter nonalcoholic margarita. If you like yours sweeter, add extra agave or use simple syrup in its place.

Garnishes

If you want a pop of color, swap your lime wheel for a lemon or orange wheel instead, you can even use a colorful citrus ribbon or twist to top off your nonalcoholic margarita.
